Who Can Use MessageMate?

MessageMate can be used by a wide variety of users from the profoundly impaired to the highest functioning communicators . The typical AAC environment is a rigorous one, and MessageMate is certainly up to the challenge. Its functional, lightweight design makes it ideal for virtually any environment, including the playground, school functions, or dinner with friends. New Message Builder Feature

Speak clear, concise messages quickly and efficiently with our new Message Builder feature. Specially designed for use with MessageMate 40 and Multi-Level MessageMate 40, Message Builder allows the user to select words or phrases from several prerecorded buttons and combine them together to create a single message. Simply turn on the Message Builder feature and build your message. Then press the Speak key to say your message, the Repeat key to repeat the last sentence spoken, the Clear key to erase the entire message, or the Back key to erase the last entry.

Keyboard or Switch Operation

Each MessageMate features membrane keys for a light touch, with an optional stiffener for a heavier touch. Keys are easy to access and can be combined to make larger keys. Four different accept times help eliminate accidental key selections. MessageMate 20 and 40 models are also switch accessible and feature fully adjustable scan rates. Mini-MessageMate has individual switch inputs for each key.

Voice

MessageMate features the highest quality recording available. Record any voice - male, female, child, or adult - in any language. Or record any sound, such as a dog barking or a whistle blowing. The volume is fully adjustable, so users feel comfortable communicating in a variety of social situations, from private conversations to noisy parties. EZ Keys XP is designed for users who have at least a third-grade reading level and cannot speak or for users who speak and desire adapted computer access. Words+ understands that not everyone can use a mouse. That’s why we designed EZ Keys XP to provide complete mouse emulation using alternative inputs, such as a keyboard or even a slight movement of an eye using switch activation. A variety of access modes, including standard keyboard, expanded keyboard, joystick, single- and multiple-switch scanning, and Morse code are available with EZ Keys XP software. You can even switch from one access mode to another without exiting the program.
